Catherine V. Holmes

Hailing from the historic town of Plymouth, Massachusetts, Catherine V. Holmes is an esteemed art and ELA educator, as well as an accomplished visual artist. She earned her BFA and MA in Education from Boston University and Bridgewater State College and is currently pursuing a second master’s degree at the University of Scranton.

Holmes specializes in portraiture, architectural artwork, and illustration. Her creations are deeply influenced by her emotions, thoughts, and experiences, drawing inspiration from nature, popular media, and human-made structures. She also finds creative motivation in her students’ interests and suggestions. In her own words, “Witnessing their success fuels my aspiration to elevate both my teaching and artistic creation.”

Catherine is a mother, an artist, an educator, and the author of the bestselling How to Draw Cool Stuff series, The 15-Minute Artist, and other popular drawing books. In addition to teaching in the classroom, she is also an online instructor for Craftsy.com.
