Liz Ferro

Liz Ferro is an author, speaker, and the founder and CEO of Girls with Sole. She is also a dedicated mother and wife. Growing up in foster care, Ferro survived sexual abuse but found strength and healing through fitness—particularly swimming, biking, and running. The empowerment she gained from sports led her to establish Girls with Sole, a nonprofit organization that has received national recognition for its innovative and impactful programming.

An accomplished endurance athlete, Ferro has completed more than 70 marathons, two 50K ultras, five Ironman Triathlons, and countless road races and triathlons—including the legendary Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon in San Francisco. She has run a marathon in all 50 states, as well as on the Great Wall of China.

Ferro’s work and story have been featured on NBC’s TODAY Show, SELF, Runner's World, and Family Circle Magazine. She is the recipient of numerous awards, including:
