The book focuses specifically on sibling loss, a tragedy author Susan Casey experienced firsthand. On Valentine’s Day in 2014, Susan learned of the sudden and devastating death of her forty-three-year-old brother, Rocky, whose birth name was Brian. He died while in Hong Kong with his wife and three-and-a-half-year-old daughter.

Susan shares her deeply personal journey, capturing the bond she shared with her brother, the shock of his unexpected death, and the emotional three-week trip to Asia that followed. When she returned home, she was confronted with unimaginable grief.
