Philip Yaffe, a UCLA graduate in mathematics and physics, began his career as editor-in-chief of the university's Daily Bruin before serving in the U.S. Peace Corps in Cameroon. He then became a feature writer with The Wall Street Journal Europe and a marketing communications consultant. He is the author of On Writing & Speaking Well: It's Easier Than You Think, and a prolific contributor to publications on clear, effective communication.
