J.J. Burke was born in Brooklyn, New York, and raised in New Rochelle, Westchester County. He attended the Philadelphia Textile Institute and has been a lifelong, passionate reader. His interest in free-style writing began in college, inspired by an English professor who introduced him to its creative freedom. Burke began his career in the textile industry, traveling throughout Central and South America, Canada, Cuba, and Puerto Rico, before transitioning into writing advertising copy for both local and national media. He lives with his wife in southeastern North Carolina.
